Cryogenic Ribbon Cable & Connectors

Cryogenic ribbon cable is manufactured by weaving a set of conductors into a loom made of an inert and very strong thread which is compatible with operation in vacuum and low temperature. The fibre of our standard weave is Nomex®, a high strength, heat resistant fibre, (stable up to 370°C), featuring good solvent and acid resistance.

ICEoxford® uses cryogenic ribbon cable solutions on all its products where applicable because of the considerable advantages over standard wiring looms, such as:

• Ribbons are very strong and easy to handle.
• Tidy wiring looms offer greater protection to wiring.
• The loom is very flexible allowing folding for easy installation on curved surfaces.
• The low temperature connectors are potted for reliability and strength.
• The ribbon may be impregnated with GE Varnish to increase rigidity and reduce microphonics.
